This Privacy Policy describes how IQ Test ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application ("App") and our website at aztest.org ("Website").

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

• Nickname / Display Name: If you choose to submit your scores to the online leaderboard, you may provide a custom nickname. If no nickname is entered, scores are submitted under "Anonymous".
• About You (optional): On the "About you" screen you may enter your age, education, gender and country of origin. Your age is used to compare your score with people of your age; the other answers make those comparisons fairer and can be left unselected. We never ask for your name or email address. These answers are stored with your test results under the App's random installation identifier and are used only for statistics.

B. Information Automatically Collected by the App

• Installation Identifier: The App generates a random installation UUID stored locally on your device in shared preferences. This ID is used solely to identify your submitted scores on the Firebase leaderboard and allow you to manage/delete your scores.
• Test Scores & Leaderboard Entries: Your test results, date, and score values submitted to public daily, weekly, or all-time leaderboards.
• Statistical Data: When you finish a test, the App sends your results (answers, score and time taken) to our own server at aztest.org, together with the random installation identifier and any "About you" answers. We use them to generate population statistics and score distributions. They are not linked to your name or email, and we publish them only as aggregates combined with data from other users.
• Country and Region: The first time the App starts, it asks the ip-api.com service which country your internet connection is in. Only the two-letter country code is kept. The App also reads the region setting of your device (for example "US"). Both are sent with your test results so that scores can be compared by country.

C. Information Collected by the Website

• Anonymous Visitor Identifier: When you take a test or play a logic puzzle on the Website without signing in, we generate a random identifier (for example web_1a2b3c4d5e6f7a8b) and store it in a cookie named aztest_vid for 13 months. It is random: it is not derived from your name, your email, your device, or your IP address, and it tells us nothing about you. Its only purpose is to tell one person's attempts apart from another's, so that a score distribution is a distribution of people rather than of whoever played most. The cookie is first-party and HttpOnly: it is not readable by scripts in your browser, is never sent to any other site, and is not used for advertising or to follow you anywhere else.
• Strictly Necessary Cookies: A session cookie and a CSRF token, which are required for signing in and for submitting a test securely.
• Account Information: If you create an account, the username and, if you supply one, the email address you register with.
• Test Results: Your answers, score, time taken, and IP address, filed under your username if you are signed in or under the anonymous identifier above if you are not.
• Logic Puzzle Statistics: Your moves and the levels you have solved stay in your own browser (its local storage) and are not sent to us. For each level you solve, or leave after making moves, the Website sends us how long it took, how many hints, checks and undos you used, and whether you solved it or looked at the solution, filed under your username or the anonymous identifier above. We use these only to put the levels in order of difficulty.

You can clear the anonymous identifier at any time by deleting cookies for this site in your browser. A new one is generated the next time you take a test, and the two cannot be linked.

D. Information Collected by Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)

This applies to the App only. The Website shows no advertisements and loads no advertising or analytics scripts from third parties. Our App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. AdMob automatically collects certain information, including:

• Device Identifiers: Android Advertising ID (AAID).
• Approximate Location: General location derived from your IP address to deliver geographically relevant ads.
• App Activity & Ad Interactions: Views, taps, and clicks on displayed advertisements.
• Diagnostics: SDK performance data, latency, and operational logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• App Functionality: To record and display your scores and chosen nickname on public leaderboards.
• Statistics: To calculate general score percentiles, averages, and statistical norms, including by age, education, gender and country. Results are published only as aggregates and never under your name.
• Telling Attempts Apart: To group the attempts made from one browser, so that repeated attempts by the same person do not count as separate people in those statistics, and so that your own past scores can be shown back to you; and to tell one person's logic puzzle plays from another's when we measure how hard a level is. These are the only uses of the anonymous visitor identifier described above.
• Score Management: To allow you to delete your submitted high scores directly from the Leaderboard screen.
• Advertising & Marketing: To serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements via Google AdMob.
• Analytics & Fraud Prevention: To ensure ad delivery integrity, prevent click fraud, and monitor SDK performance.

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the App:

• Google Firebase (Firestore): Used for storing public leaderboard scores, nicknames, and installation IDs. (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used for serving ads in the App. (Google AdMob Privacy Policy)
• ip-api.com: Asked once, when the App first starts, for the country of your internet connection. Like any website, it sees your IP address when the App contacts it. (ip-api.com Privacy Policy)

4. Data Security

All communications between the App and Firebase/AdMob servers use HTTPS / TLS encryption in transit. Data stored in Firebase Firestore is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.

5. Data Control & Deletion Rights

You have full control over the data submitted by your device:

• In-App Score Deletion: You can delete your submitted scores at any time directly within the App's Leaderboard screen by tapping the Delete icon next to your score entry.
• Advertising ID Controls: You can reset or delete your device’s Advertising ID at any time through your Android device settings (Settings ➔ Privacy ➔ Ads).
• Contact Request: You may also contact us by email to request manual deletion of any submitted leaderboard data associated with your device.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date".
