How to play

  • Fill every white cell with either an O or an X.
  • Three identical symbols (OOO or XXX) can never appear consecutively in a straight line—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  • Given symbols cannot be changed.
  • Black cells are obstacles that do not take a symbol, and they break lines (symbols on opposite sides of a black cell do not count as consecutive).

No Three in a Row (Orthogonal & Diagonal)

Every cell contains an O or an X. Three identical symbols can never appear consecutively in any row, column, or diagonal line.

OOXXXXOOOOXXXOXO
✓ Correct Every cell is filled with O or X. No three identical symbols line up horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
OOOXXXOOOOXXXOXO
✗ Wrong Three in a row horizontally: three Os line up consecutively in the top row. Three identical symbols can never line up.
OOXXXXOOOOXOXOXO
✗ Wrong Three in a row diagonally: three Os line up diagonally across cells (0, 1), (1, 2), and (2, 3). Diagonals are forbidden as well.

Black Cells Break Lines

Black obstacle cells break lines. Identical symbols separated by a black cell do not count as consecutive.

OOXOOOOXXOXOXXO
✓ Correct Black cell breaks lines: the black cell at (1, 1) interrupts row 1 and the diagonal, so O-[Black]-O is legal and valid.
OOXOOOOOXXOXOXXO
✗ Wrong Unbroken line: without the black cell, cell (1, 1) holds an O, creating an illegal three-in-a-row (O-O-O) across row 1.
A small Marupeke, solved.
